Course Introduction

The ORR – Field Training Instructor (FTI) course is the highest professional-level certification offered under the Organic Reef Rehabilitation (ORR) training pathway. Designed for experienced conservation practitioners and graduates of all preparatory ORR courses, this program develops competent leaders capable of teaching, mentoring, supervising, and guiding future generations in ethical marine conservation practices.

The FTI certification represents more than instructional authority — it signifies responsibility, leadership, and the capacity to bridge science, conservation ethics, coastal communities, and practical field operations.

Graduates who successfully complete the course will be certified to conduct ORR training programs and independently sustain themselves through education, conservation work, and leadership within the ORR framework.

Prerequisites

Participants must have successfully completed:

  • Coral Biology Course

  • Comprehensive Reef Assessment (CRA)

  • Coral Ecology Diver Course

  • Organic Reef Rehabilitation Course

  • Countermeasure & Disaster Response Course

  • Other ORR preparatory certifications as required

Additional requirements:

  • Demonstrated field experience

  • Strong watermanship and buoyancy skills

Instructor Evaluation Requirements
